BIO

Hi. I'm Julie

I am a functional nutrition therapy practitioner, nutrition writer and health coach. I am trained in nutrition science, psychology, health coaching, nutritional endocrinology, and I write content for publication in the field of functional and holistic nutrition. I received my training from Tufts Friedman School, the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), eCornell and the Wellcoaches School of Coaching.

I have experience working with clinical nutrition clients in a naturopathic clinic as well as coaching and counseling online. I am always learning, researching and writing. I absolutely love what I do!

In 2018 I decided to leave my 20-year career in technology and corporate venture capital to study and train full-time in functional and holistic nutrition. I come to this field from a place of deep curiosity and drive for wanting to know exactly how to shift individual physiology from a place of disease and malaise, to healthy and thriving by using real food to help people transform their wellness.

I am grateful for the opportunity to merge my background in with my love of helping people thrive with holistic health and nutrition education.

My aim is to practice a personalized nutrition approach, combined with positive psychology and behavior change coaching to help people make their transformation goals possible.

I believe we are at a critical point in the evolution of our healthcare system where individuals desperately want to take control of their health and empower themselves to thrive. My goal is to educate, motivate, inspire and help guide my clients to their own transformation where they feel truly supported and enabled on their journey to reach their wellness goals.

I live and work in Portland, Oregon. It is there that I have the great opportunity to learn from some of the brightest, most independent and critically-thinking minds in the field of nutrition and lifestyle wellbeing, and I get to participate and contribute to one of the fastest-growing areas of human health and wellness— food as medicine.

You can most always find me in the kitchen with my husband, two teenagers, a golden retriever, a british shorthair cat and a veiled chameleon (not in the kitchen).
